Whether you own a new or used motor home, battery maintenance is
something that is often overlooked.
Here are some things to consider to ensure long lasting life of the
battery in your RV.

if you will not be using the RV for an extended period of time
disconnect the battery

do not overcharge your battery

do not charge frozen batteries

keep the battery clean and free of corrosion and dirt

monitor the battery cables for breaks and corrosion

Visually inspect the terminals and cables at least once a year

check the terminals for corrosion and dirt. If they need cleaning,
disconnect battery cables and clean with baking soda and water
-
terminal posts can also be cleaned with baking soda and water
solution

ensure terminals are fitted tightly at the end of the cables

monitor the batteries water level

Keep the top of the battery clean of heavy dirt and oil with a cloth
dampened by ammonia or a 50/50 solution of baking soda and water
